A romance full of patience, grace, forgiveness and redemption. One where a character is beaten down and broken, but not destroyed, and slowly, carefully rebuilds a new, better version of self. Seth and Teddy's story is my very favorite kind of romance.
We have to learn to love ourselves before we can be ready to truly love someone else. This is such an important message, and I applaud this gifted wordsmith for the way she highlights it. There is no trite, “you make me a better person." Instead, they each put in the time and work to become the best version of themselves so they can be ready for their forever together. One of the things I loved about this one is the time the characters take to work on themselves. The secrets! I'm stunned speechless and my jaw is still on the floor. It's a zero-to-sixty-in-under-a-second thrill ride as shocking secrets are revealed. I would recommend this duet to those that enjoy STEAMY Romantic Suspense, Best Friends Little Sister Romances, Forced Proximity Romances, Grumpy/Sunshine Romances, or Secret Agent Romances. He slowly showed her that he loved her no matter what one text, one email, one day at a time. What I loved was how Seth stood by her even though she was constantly trying to push him away. At times it was hard to read because you become so invested in these characters they are like your friends and you would be heartbroken if someone you know suffered the way Teddy had.
This story was about rebuilding yourself and your life after trauma. This story MUST be read after you read AFTER THE VOWS, the first book in Seth and Teddy's duet. There were Lots of twists and WOW one HUGE surprise that rocks both The St. LOVE AFTER US was a great way to conclude the duet.
